Delaware State Police arrested James Fisher, 33, of Ellendale in Delaware for DUI, gun and crash-related offenses after a crash yesterday that occurred in Harbeson.
A Ford F-750 traveling northbound Harbeson Road was struck by several parked vehicles on the 18000 block of Harbeson Road at 8:35 am, July 1, 2025. Investigation revealed that the Ford, for unknown reasons left the southbound travel lane and hit several parked cars on the 18000 Block of Harbeson Road. James Fisher was seen hiding behind a bush a bag that had been removed from the Ford after the accident. The troopers spoke with Fisher and observed signs of impairment. They also conducted Standardized Field Sobriety tests. Troopers located the bag Fisher had hidden behind the tree. The bag contained several stolen firearms and ammunition, as well as ballistic vests. Fisher was injured in the accident but refused to be transported to hospital.
Fisher, a man who was prohibited from owning a gun or ammunition, has been arrested and brought to Troop 7. He was charged for the following crimes, arraigned before Justice of the Peace Court 2 and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution under a secured bond of $25,530.
- Possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony (Felony).
- Possession of Firearm/Destructive Weapons if Convicted of Violent Felons (Felony). – 4 counts
- Possession of Firearms or Ammunition By a Person Prohibited Previous Violent Crime (Felony).
- Possession of an Weapon with a Removed Serial Number, Obliterated or Alternated (Felony).
- Theft of Firearms (Felony), 4 counts
- Driving While Under the Influence Of Drugs
- Other Traffic Infractions
