The Dover Police Department has arrested Eugene Johnson, 18, and a 17-year-old male, both of Dover, for the shooting that occurred on July 28th.(see full release below) Through the investigation, Detectives identified Johnson and the 17-year-old male as the suspects responsible for the shooting and obtained warrants for them. On 08/12/2024 at 8:40 a.m., the 17-year-old was taken into custody without incident. He was transported to Dover Police Department where he was arraigned. Johnson was being held at SCI on separate charges and was arraigned at the facility.
The 17-year-old was committed to Vision Quest on $5,500 secured bail on the following charges:
-Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony
-Possession of a Deadly Weapon/Ammunition by a Person Prohibited (2x)
-Reckless Endangering in the First Degree (2x)
-Conspiracy in the Second Degree
-Criminal Mischief Under $1,000
Johnson remains held at SCI on the following charges:
-Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony
-Possession of a Deadly Weapon/Ammunition by a Person Prohibited (2x)
-Reckless Endangering in the First Degree (2x)-
Conspiracy in the Second Degree
-Criminal Mischief Under $1,000

Narrative: The Dover Police Department is investigating a shooting that resulted in a vehicle being damaged Sunday evening. The investigation began at 6:26 p.m., when Officers made contact with the victim’s, a 16-year-old male and a 17-year-old male, both of Dover. The investigation revealed that the victim’s were in a vehicle on South Kirkwood Street when they were approached by a black male, who shot the vehicle, then fled. No injuries were reported as a result of this shooting.
There are currently no leads to release at this time.
