In honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Bayhealth’s Volunteer Services team is gathering food donations for Code Purple in Kent and Sussex counties as part of our drive to improve the health and well-being of all who live in our communities.
Code Purple’s mission is to help those suffering from homelessness, abuse, financial struggle, and drug addiction and those suffering from the result of a pandemic. The Code Purple initiative relies heavily on donations to fulfill their mission.
At Bayhealth, individual team members and departments are donating, as well as Bayhealth’s dedicated volunteers, who have been unable to enter the hospitals since the onset of the pandemic in March 2020.
“Creating this initiative has brought our team members together in such a great way,” said Volunteer Services Manager Carrie Hart. “In addition to those who work in our hospitals, our dedicated volunteers are always looking for ways to stay connected and help. They’ve answered our call in a big way to give to our communities that need us now.”
Donations will be collected at Bayhealth through Wednesday. Individuals are encouraged to visit codepurpledelaware.com to learn about ways to give back to this important mission.
