Bayhealth offers multiple educational and support programs in September

Bayhealth has many health and wellness programs planned for the month of September, ranging from exercise to better breathing and more. The month kicks off with “Walk with a Doc” on Sunday, September 1 starting at 11 AM at Brecknock County Park, located at 80 Old Camden Road in Camden.

The program is designed to encourage the community to get some exercise, learn about current health topics and meet other members of the community. It is also a way to get to know healthcare providers in the area and take an active role in an individual’s health journey. All ages and fitness levels are welcome, but registration is required. A waiver is required for the first walk which will be provided once registration is complete. Register for “Walk with a Doc” by visiting the Bayhealth website.

On September 19, the Better Breathers Club, designed for those with COPD or other lung diseases, is planned at the Sussex Campus Community Room from 2 to 4 PM. The program is free, and registration is not required. The program provides skills designed to manage lung conditions and improve quality of life. For more information, contact Elizabeth Hurley at 302-430-5902.

The Bariatric Program Support Group will meet at the Sussex Campus on September 12 from 6 to 7 PM in Conference Room 2002 and on September 26 in the Kent Campus Board Room. The support group is designed for those who have undergone bariatric surgery, providing them with a positive and supportive environment to promote a healthy lifestyle.

The program is free, and registration is not required. To learn more, contact Patricia Deer by email at [email protected] or call 302-430-5454.
