Events at the Biggs Museum will be featured at the next Milford Conversation

The next Milford Conversation, an informal group of Milford residents and businesses who gather monthly to discuss various topics about the city, will meet on Thursday, July 11 at 8:30 AM at Milford First Presbyterian Church. The topic for this month will be events happening in the area.”

“The headliner for July’s meeting will be the Bigg’s Museum,” John Huntzinger, organizer of the Milford Conversation, said. “They will provide us with an overview of what they offer, and the many events planned during the summer. We will also have a presentation about Milford’s Riverwalk Freedom Festival, the largest festival in town which is planned for September.”

The Biggs Museum of American Art, located at 406 Federal Street in Dover, has a mission to preserve, celebrate and share American art with a mid-Atlantic focus. Many Milford artists have been featured at the Biggs Museum, including Rosemary Connelly and Cathy Walls.

“The Riverwalk Freedom Festival is the largest festival in Milford, put on by the Chamber of Commerce for Greater Milford,” Huntzinger said. “Angela Dorey has been the chairperson for more than a decade and does an amazing job of putting this festival together.”

According to Huntzinger, the August program will feature travel, including information about trips designed for senior citizens.

The church is located at 101 South Walnut Street in Milford. The entrance to the library where the meeting is held is at the back of the church. Parking is available in the city lot behind the church. Attendees should enter through the back door with the handicap symbol, walk through the kitchen and into the library.
