The Cape May–Lewes Ferry has been recognized with the 2026 Tripadvisor Travelers’ Choice Award, placing the Delaware Bay ferry service among the top 10% of listings worldwide on the travel platform.
Ferry officials announced the honor this week, noting that the award is based on consistent traveler reviews and ratings submitted over the past year.
The Travelers’ Choice Award is determined entirely by customer feedback, with winners selected based on both the quality and quantity of reviews left by visitors. This year marks the 15th time the ferry has received the recognition.
“Receiving the Travelers’ Choice Award for the fifteenth year is an incredible honor that reflects the consistent hard work of the entire ferry team,” said Heath Gehrke, Director of Ferry Operations. “Because this award is rooted entirely in guest feedback, it serves as a direct reflection of the quality and care we strive to provide on every voyage across the Delaware Bay. We are deeply grateful to our customers for sharing their journeys and for making us a top-tier destination worldwide.”
Tripadvisor, which hosts one of the world’s largest travel review platforms, uses its Travelers’ Choice rankings to highlight destinations that consistently receive strong visitor feedback.
“Congratulations to the Cape May – Lewes Ferry on its Tripadvisor’s Travelers’ Choice Award: Best of the Best win for 2026,” said Laurel Greatrix, Chief Communications Officer, Tripadvisor Group. “Earning a place among the top percentage of listings globally is no small feat. It reflects the lasting impression made on travelers who took the time to go online and leave a glowing review about their experience. Travelers look to Tripadvisor’s Best of the Best as a trusted guide to the world’s top destinations and experiences. We hope this recognition helps inspire even more visitors in 2026 and beyond!”
Ferry officials said the recognition reflects ongoing efforts across marine operations, customer service, and onboard amenities that have made the service a long-standing part of regional tourism for more than 60 years.
