Local artist Claire Howard officially opened a new studio in Bethany Beach this week, marking the occasion with a ribbon-cutting ceremony hosted in partnership with the Bethany-Fenwick Area Chamber of Commerce.
The grand opening was held June 9 and drew family members, friends and chamber representatives to celebrate the launch of the new creative space.
Howard is known for her coastal artwork and commissioned pieces, with a portfolio focused on oil paintings that capture scenes from Bethany Beach and neighboring coastal communities.

The new studio is located at 18 N. Pennsylvania Ave. in downtown Bethany Beach and will serve as a space for Howard to create and showcase her work.
According to information provided by the chamber, Howard’s artwork centers on peaceful coastal landscapes inspired by the area’s beaches and waterways.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony was one of several business openings and expansions recognized by the Bethany-Fenwick Area Chamber of Commerce this year as the summer season gets underway.
