Mispillion Art League announced that the 2022 Big Draw Festival DE, will offer free, family-friendly art activities on Park Ave. and N. Walnut St. in downtown Milford on Saturday, October 8, from 9 am to 3 pm. MAL is organizing this year’s theme, Come Back to Color (spelled ‘Colour’ in the UK), as a way for the community to gather and celebrate the joy of color.

One of the many activities this year is to make a “Colorful Face Mask!” Kids love colored paper and creating vibrant masks is perfect for imaginative play. As with any activity you do with your child, crafts promote spending quality time together. Paper crafts inspire the young and old alike to think critically, encourage exploration of ideas and to find new, creative ways to reach a goal—the possibilities are endless!

This activity is suitable for all ages, although younger children may need some assistance. MAL will supply pre-cut shapes in all colors, so just bring your imagination! There will also be sidewalk chalk art, drawing on a BIG wall of paper, painting pumpkins and a variety of drawing and painting activities for kids (and adults) of all ages.

The Festival was first organized in the UK 22 years ago and is now the world’s biggest celebration of drawing. It promotes the universal language of drawing as a tool to learn, express and invent. Activities are for everyone of all ages—families, children, artists, non-artists—anyone looking to have a fun art-making experience. Come out and enjoy creating art for art’s sake!

Mispillion Art League welcomes artists, aspiring artists, and anyone who loves art and believes in its power to enrich all members of the community. Our mission is to provide community-wide access to a quality visual arts program. The Art League also offers art classes in many different mediums for ages pre-K and up. Class details and registration can be found on the website www.mispillionarts.org, on Facebook and Instagram (@MispillionArts), and on www.delawarescene.com.

The Mispillion Art League is an exempt organization as described in Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. This organization is supported in part by a grant from the Delaware Division of the Arts, a state agency, in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts. The Division promotes Delaware arts events on www.DelawareScene.com.
