Croda, Inc., the company that uses Smart science to improve lives™ to create high-performance ingredients and solutions sponsored the New Castle Senior Center’s December 20 holiday celebration.

Natalie Kaplan, Executive Director, New Castle Senior Center said, “Our members and staff value connectedness and community and it’s clear from our partnership with Croda that its team does too.”

The celebration, which included lunch, live entertainment, and a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus, was underwritten by Croda as part of its years-long commitment to sponsor events and programs at the New Castle Senior Center.

“We’re thrilled to continue our support of the New Castle Senior Center. Getting to celebrate the holiday season with the senior center’s members and staff really reminds me of why I love my job.” said Sana Bell, Community Engagement Coordinator at Croda.

Croda asked long-time partner, the Colonial School District, to cater the holiday lunch through its culinary/catering program at William Penn High School, the Penn Bistro. William Penn High School extended its engagement by bringing in student volunteers from its Future Farmers of America chapter, senior club, and agricultural program to serve the lunch.

Brian Erskine, the Colonial School District’s Supervisor in Schools said, “Croda has consistently helped us advance many of the career-focused programs in our district. From opening its doors to students interested in the STEM field, to sponsoring summer scholarships at highly-regarded universities, this partnership is another example of Croda impacting where our students live.” He continued, “The New Castle Senior Center lies right within our district, and we were happy to have our culinary team, agriculture students, and dedicated volunteers join in the holiday joy.”

Throughout the year, Croda Atlas Point stands by its long-standing commitment of giving back through sponsorships like this; incentivizing employees to give back 1% of their work time (about three days per full-time employee) to their community through the Croda 1% Club; and participating in various community events.
