Monday, January 13, 2025, will mark the Delaware State Chamber of Commerce’s 188th Annual Dinner. The State Chamber is pleased to announce CSC President and CEO Rod Ward as this year’s distinguished keynote speaker.

As the world’s leading provider of business administration and compliance solutions, CSC powers every stage of the business life cycle. With more than 8,500 people with capabilities in more than 140 jurisdictions, hundreds of thousands of organizations rely on CSC’s expertise, service, and global capabilities as they face increasing complexity and regulation. Privately owned, and with a 125-year track record, CSC consistently delivers market-leading expertise and exceptional service, driven by a fierce client spirit and unmatched global reach. They are the business behind business.

Rod Ward III is president and chief executive officer of CSC, elected in 2010. Over his career, Ward worked in manufacturing as president of the Speakman Company and vice president of Snap-On Inc.’s European Equipment division. He worked for FMC Corporation in operations and for Credit Suisse as a precious metals trader. Ward serves as co-chair of the Delaware Prosperity Partnership (DPP), a public-private partnership for economic development. He also serves on the advisory board of both the Weinberg Center for Corporate Governance at the University of Delaware and Leadership Delaware.

“I’m so pleased to be addressing the 188th Annual Dinner of the Delaware State Chamber of Commerce, made even more special by the fact that I’ll be there to congratulate the 75th Marvel Cup winner—an award named after Josiah Marvel who was the partner and co-founder of CSC along with my great grandfather, Christopher Ward,” says Ward. “Both of these men shared an entrepreneurial spirit that lives on today in CSC and in the companies that prosper in Delaware. I’m honored to share the story of CSC and how we take care of business for companies around the globe that rely on us to create the competitive edge that lets them perform at their best. We also take care of each other, as well as focus on leaving the communities where we live and work better off tomorrow than they are today.”

The Annual Dinner is the largest of the State Chamber’s annual events, drawing over 1,100 business leaders, dignitaries, and elected officials to the Chase Center on the Riverfront. The evening’s program will include the 75th presentation of the Josiah Marvel Cup award in honor of the memory of Josiah Marvel, who reorganized and was the first president of the modern-day State Chamber. It is tradition that the recipient of the Marvel Cup is kept secret until the night of the dinner.
