Delaware State Police have arrested a 16-year-old juvenile male from Wilmington, DE, and a 16-year-old and 14-year-old juvenile male both of Newark, DE following the burglary of a tobacco store that took place in the Newark area.
On Thursday, February 23, 2022, at approximately 10:15 a.m., troopers responded to the Four Seasons Tobacco Store located at 700 Plaza Drive, Newark, for a report of a burglary. The investigation revealed three suspects made forced entry into the business at approximately 7:28 a.m., through two windows they had smashed. The suspects removed various tobacco products and fled out of a rear door.
Through investigative means, troopers were able to identify the suspects and took them into custody at an area high school later that afternoon. The suspects were transported to Troop 2 where they were each charged with the following crimes:
- Burglary 3rd Degree (Felony)
- Wearing a Disguise During the Commission of a Felony (Felony)
- Theft $1,500 or Greater (Felony)
- Conspiracy Second Degree (Felony)
- Criminal Mischief
Both 16-year-old juveniles were arraigned in the Justice of the Peace Court #11 and released on a $7,800 unsecured bond.
The 14-year-old juvenile was arraigned in the Justice of the Peace Court #11 and released on a $3,001 unsecured bond.
