Delaware State Police are investigating an armed carjacking that occurred in New Castle on Saturday afternoon.
On September 30, 2023, at approximately 4:36 p.m., troopers responded to a storage lot at 152 South Dupont Boulevard in New Castle for a carjacking. When troopers arrived, they discovered that a 28-year-old victim had entered the parking lot driving a Chevrolet Impala. The victim’s intention was to drop off a 59-year-old victim who was about to switch into a truck to make deliveries. However, before the switch could take place, an unidentified black male approached them. The suspect demanded money while displaying a firearm. The victims, both from New Castle, ran. The suspect fired several shots at the victims as they ran away. The suspect subsequently stole two bags of clothing from the 59-year-old victim’s truck and fled in the Impala.
