Dover Man Arrested For Weapons and Drug Charges Following Knife Complaint

Narrative: The Dover Police Department has arrested Jason Corkell, 38, of Dover, on weapons and drug charges following a knife complaint early Thursday morning. The investigation began at 1:11 a.m., when Dover Police Department was called to the area of College Road and North DuPont Highway for a knife complaint. Officers responded and contacted the victim, who advised that a white male threatened him with a knife and fled. Officers checked the area and located the suspect, Corkell, who matched the description provided by the victim and while attempting to take him not custody he resisted arrest. After taking him into custody, Corkell provided a false name, and officers located a knife and heroin on him after a search. When officers attempted to put him into a car, Corkell bit an officer, however he was eventually put in to the car successfully. He was transported to Dover Police Department where he was processed and arraigned.

Corkell was committed to SCI on $32,300 cash bond on the following charges:
-Possession of a Deadly Weapon During the Commission of a Felony
-Possession with Intent to Deliver Heroin
-Aggravated Menacing
-Reckless Endangering 1st Degree
-Possession of a Deadly Weapon By a Person Prohibited
-Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon
-Offensive Touching of a Law Enforcement Officer
-Terroristic Threatening
-Criminal Impersonation
-Resisting Arrest
-Possession of a controlled substance
-Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
