MILFORD, DE:  The Friends of the Milford Library is hosting a book sale featuring thousands of books from the Milford Public Library as the library works through space constraints following recent renovations.

The sale, held at the Milford Public Library, 11 S. E. Front St., will continue through July 10. Books are available for $1 each, or shoppers can fill a bag for $5.

The sale includes countless bins of books across a broad range of genres, offering readers a low-cost way to stock up for summer while helping the library make room.

This pile of boxes of books could add to your summer reading plans and help you stay on budget.

“We want to sell as many books as possible since we would need to purge them because there is no place to keep them,” said Linda Bonitatibus, president of the Friends of the Milford Library.

The Friends of the Milford Library is part of a national volunteer network that supports and promotes the goals, activities and operations of local libraries. Last year, the Milford group raised more than $12,000 for the Milford Public Library, helping with renovation and labor costs.

Bonitatibus said volunteers also are needed and would be greatly appreciated. Anyone interested in helping may contact the Milford Public Library at 302-422-8996.

The Milford Public Library is open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday.
