As Milford School District students gear up for the school year, that last week of August is barreling toward them.
However, students come back at various times.
Students who are in kindergarten, first grade, sixth grade and ninth grade have a full transition day on Tuesday, Aug. 27.
The remaining students all come back the next day, Wednesday Aug. 28.
The district has a back-to-school guide on its website that includes information on transportation, state/end times of school days and reminders about dress code.
There’s also the following meet-and-greet opportunities for families to get to know their teacher.
All meet-and-greets are held on Monday, Aug. 26:
- Morris Early Childhood Center: kindergarten meet-and-greet information will be sent directly to families.
- Benjamin Banneker Elementary, Lulu Ross Elementary and Mispillion Elementary: 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. for 1st grade, 9:45 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. for 2nd grade, 10:45 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. for 3rd grade, 11:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for 4th grade and 12:45 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. for 5th grade.
- Milford Central Academy: the school will be open for a walkthrough and meet-the-teacher event from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Students and parents can pick up their schedules and walk through the building to visit their classrooms during this time
- Milford High School: the school will be open for a walkthrough and meet-the-teacher event from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Students and parents can pick up their schedules and walk through the building to visit their classrooms during this time.
Morris Early Childhood Center’s school day is from 8:45 a.m. to 3:35 p.m. with a student drop-off time of 8:25 a.m.
The school days of Banneker, Lulu Ross and Mispillion are from 7:35 a.m. to 2:20 p.m. with a student drop-off time of 7:15 a.m.
Milford Central Academy’s school day is from 8:30 a.m. to 3:25 p.m. with a student drop-off time of 8:15 a.m.
Milford High School’s school day is from 7:30 a.m. to 2:25 p.m. with a student drop-off time of 7:15 a.m.

Transportation information can be found here by entering a student’s identification number and birthday.
Transportation changes can be made in person at the transportation office at 906 Lakeview Avenue, or families can email their form and valid photo ID to the office.
