Hippiefest returns for its third year on the lawn of the Causey Mansion

If you are a member of the Milford Museum, you will be able to purchase tickets to Hippiefest, one of the museum’s most popular events of the year, starting July 1. Those who wish to attend who are not members by July 1 will be able to purchase tickets on July 7.

“We wanted to do something special for our members and we felt like giving them the first option to buy tickets to this event, which has sold out each year it has been held, was a great way to show our appreciation,” Nicole Rogers, Operations Director for the Milford Museum, said. “Not only will they get first shot at tickets, but we are also allowing members only to enter the event a half an hour early this year.”

The event, planned for August 20 from 4 to 9 PM, will be held on the lawn of the Causey Mansion, located at 2 Causey Avenue in Milford. Lincoln City Band will perform hits from the 1960s and 1970s while DJ Dana McDonald of Forever Media will spin tunes from the same era during band breaks. Guests are encouraged to dress in 60s and 70s style clothing to create the fun, groovy feeling of the Woodstock era. Be sure to bring lawn chairs as well as there are none provided.

“We have made some changes this year,” Rogers said. “Because the cost of food has risen so much, we are unable to provide catering this year. Instead, we have the Pop Warner food truck as well as Tracian’s Caribbean Food on hand with food for purchase. We will also have Sweet Josephine’s offering cupcakes and Italian ice. We did lower ticket prices as we recognize people will need to purchase food this year. We are asking that no outside food be brought in. The Alcohauler will be there serving their famous cocktails as well. BYOB is permitted but the owners of Causey are asking that you keep your coolers as small as possible.”

Several vendors will be on hand selling items such as candles, drinkware, clothing and more. The museum is seeking sponsorships for the event at various levels. More information is available by emailing [email protected].

The link for members to purchase tickets will be emailed on July 1. If you wish to become a member or if you need to update your membership, you can do so by clicking https://www.milforddemuseum.org/get-involved/become-a-member/.

There is no limit on how many tickets an individual can purchase. On July 7, Milford Museum will post the link for non-member sales on social media. Tickets will only be sold via Eventbrite and will not be available at the museum. Only those 18 or older may attend the event and all guests regardless of age will need to provide proper identification to enter the event.
