The Holiday Stroll will return on December 7

Second only to the arrival of Santa, one of the most anticipated events held in downtown Milford, the Holiday Stroll, will return on December 7 from 3 to 8 PM. According to Downtown Milford Inc. (DMI), who puts on the event, downtown will be turned into a winter wonderland with a Christmas Market, food vendors, a live nativity and much more.

“We are so excited for the Holiday Stroll this year,” Sara LeBright, Executive Director, said. “This year, we have our popular Christmas Market located in the Farmer’s Market area of the Riverwalk. We are creating a food court in the parking lot on Walnut Street with several food trucks offering delicious options. Our downtown businesses, from shops to restaurants, will offer specials as well, so you can buy those special gifts for everyone on your list this year.”

The Milford Church of God is providing a live nativity and there will also be children’s activities and entertainment throughout the event.

“Santa arrives on Saturday, November 30 and he will be in his house starting at 5 PM the night of the stroll,” LeBright said. “Thanks to Milford Parks and Recreation as well as our Design Committee, the downtown area will be filled with twinkle lights, holiday blooms plus much more.”

The event is so popular vendor spaces are already filled, and no more applications are being accepted, LeBright stated. Walnut Street will be closed to traffic starting at 1 PM on Saturday so that vendors and food trucks can set up in time for the stroll. The street will reopen at 9 PM.

“Parking is always a question during events, and we are happy to say that there is ample parking available throughout the town,” LeBright said. “There is parking available by Avenue United Methodist Church on Church Street as well as behind the former M&T Bank building. Other lots are available on the corner of Front and Walnut, behind the Presbyterian Church and in certain areas of the Riverwalk Shopping Center. We do ask that you leave spaces open closer to the stores in that shopping center for their customers, however.”
