Jay Day Wellness Block Party, Hosted by Outloud DE, will be from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Milford Central Academy
“Jay Day” Wellness Block Party is being held at Milford Central Academy on Friday, June 26 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. where wellness stations, local vendors, flag football games, and educational events will be available.
MILFORD, DE: “Jay Day” is an event to commemorate the late James “Jay” Powell Jr., who passed away in June 2016.
The purpose of the event, says Jay’s sister, Jalyn Powell, is to spread love and laughter for the community while also educating people about the serious consequences of driving while impaired.
Featuring local food trucks, vendors, children’s games, live music with a DJ, educational booths on impaired driving and drug awareness, face painting, and more.
The event is hosted and organized by Outloud DE, a youth-centered non-profit organization whose goal is to boost the voices of the youth through holistic wellness and civic engagement.
Shirts will be available and handed out at the event.
Members of the community, such as board members from Downtown Milford Inc., Vice Mayor Jason L. James Sr., and the Powell family will be in attendance.
“Jay Day” will bring light to the serious consequences of impaired driving through education and also provide the community with resources and entertainment.
The event is open to the public.
