Just before Cinco de Mayo, La Hacienda opened its doors in its new location in Milford, taking over the spot where Georgia House stood. Owner Carlos Estrada was very pleased they could open the doors the first week of May.

“The pandemic slowed us down,” Estrada said. “Work crews were restricted in how many could work at a time and then permitting staff were backed up. We are thrilled to have the new location open for the people of Milford to enjoy again.”

The interior of the restaurant looks much different than the previous restaurant. The kitchen is now closed in with a beautiful, hand painted mural. The brick walls are still visible but the center booths have been removed to create a more open feeling. There is a bar located on the second floor where guests can sit and look out over Walnut Street.

“We did a lot more to the building than we originally planned,” Estrada said. “We are currently doing renovations on the outdoor patio to make it more comfortable and hope to have it ready for use very soon. When we open, we are planning some live music outside and possibly adding some art showings as well.”

Customers are thrilled to have La Hacienda back as the restaurant had to close temporarily in order to move equipment from their kitchen in the previous location next to Tractor Supply to the new location.

“We were in Milford for Cinco de Mayo,” Cheryl Weniger said. “Great food and service! So glad you are here and back!” Will Leister was also glad to be able to visit La Hacienda, stating that the food and service were “great.”

La Hacienda is also hiring. Hosts and busser applicants must be at least 16 and there are flexible hours available. Servers must be 18 and bartenders must be 21. Anyone interested in applying can stop in and talk to Chuck as the restaurant is offering interviews on the spot.
