Spring sports competition begins on Monday all across the state and for the Buccaneers it means the start of nine spring programs.
The 2026 spring sports season is upon us with competition scheduled to start on Monday, March 23. Here’s a look ahead to some of the action across Milford’s many spring sports.
Baseball
The Milford baseball team will only play once this week. They will begin their season with a road game against Smyrna on Thursday, March 26. The Buccaneers beat Smyrna in their lone game against the Eagles last season due in part to a strong pitching performance from now senior Landon Short.

The softball team has a busy week ahead of them with three games scheduled for this week. The Buccaneers will begin their season at home against Woodbridge on Tuesday, before playing back-to-back games on Thursday and Friday. Thursday’s game is a road matchup against Smyrna set to begin at 4:15 p.m. and Friday’s game will be at home against Conrad with the same start time.
Milford finished last season with a winning record and an appearance in the DIAA state tournament, but lost in the first round to DMA. The Buccaneers return seven players from last year’s squad as they attempt to build off last season’s successes.
