ABBA-filled musical highlights student talent, teamwork and months of preparation… Community invited to attend the show!

MILFORD, Del. — The Milford High School Drama Club will bring the music and story of Mamma Mia! to the stage later this month, showcasing months of student work in one of the school’s most anticipated arts productions of the year.

Performances are scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 26, at 6:30 p.m.; Friday, Feb. 27, at 7 p.m.; and Saturday, Feb. 28, at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. in the Milford High School auditorium.  The play is directed by Mrs. Elli Swain, the drama club head.

The musical follows Sophie, a young woman preparing for her future while uncovering secrets from her mother, Donna, and her past, set against a sun-soaked Greek island and powered by the iconic music of ABBA. Audience members can expect favorites including “Dancing Queen,” “Take a Chance on Me,” “The Winner Takes It All,” and “Mamma Mia.”

Noah Link, a member of the Milford High School faculty and the production’s producer, said students have been working since November to bring a fresh, relatable version of the show to life.

“Our students have put an incredible amount of heart and effort into this production,” Link said. “They’re not just performing songs people love — they’re telling a story about family, choices, friendships and growing up in a way that feels very real to them.”

Link said the production reflects the program’s collaborative spirit, with students involved in all aspects of the show, from acting and singing to behind-the-scenes technical work.

“What makes Mamma Mia! such a great fit for our students is that it’s joyful, emotional and demanding all at once,” he said. “They’ve taken these well-known characters and made them their own, and that growth has been amazing to watch.”

The winter musical is traditionally one of the Drama Club’s largest undertakings and draws strong support from families, alumni, and the broader Milford community.

“This show invites audiences to reminisce about the chances they did or didn’t take, their first loves, and the friendships that last a lifetime,” Link said. “We’re excited to share that experience with the community.”
