Milford Rotary Club is continuing its annual Flags for Heroes campaign, inviting community members to honor veterans, active military personnel, first responders and others considered local heroes through a public flag display in Milford.
According to the organization, hundreds of American-made flags are being displayed at Bicentennial Park from May 16 through June 6, each accompanied by a personalized plaque recognizing an individual or organization being honored.
The annual display serves as both a tribute to community heroes and a fundraiser supporting the Milford Rotary Educational Foundation Scholarship Fund and other local community programs.
Residents and businesses can sponsor a flag with a personalized plaque, and additional sponsorship options are also available through the program. Organizers say proceeds from past campaigns have supported scholarships for local students, food assistance efforts, youth leadership programs, Easterseals Camp Fairlee Manor and other community initiatives.
The public is invited to visit Bicentennial Park to view the display and read the dedications honoring individuals throughout the Milford community.
More information about the Flags for Heroes campaign is available through Milford Rotary Club.
