Milford Wellness Village has planned its first VillageFest
Milford Wellness Village will celebrate the inaugural VillageFest on Friday, September 23 from 4 to 8 PM on their campus. The event will be held at the corner of King’s Highway and Williams Street between Jefferson Avenue and King’s Highway.
“This event will include family-friendly activities including games, a moon bounce and more,” Lon Kieffer, Executive Director of Milford Wellness Village, said. “You can also enjoy the sounds of contemporary folk singer and songwriter, Nancy Mallwesky who will begin playing at 4:30 PM followed by the Funsters at 6 PM.”
In addition to live music and games, there will be food trucks, including House’s BBQ, Tre Sorelle Dolce, The Corn Exchange and Kapelpa. Adults who are 21 and older can also enjoy locally brewed beer at the beer garden, sponsored by Mispillion River Brewing. All proceeds at the beer garden will benefit Education Health Research International.
“We would love to see the community come out and learn more about what we have to offer,” Kieffer said. “We will have information about the Milford Wellness Village, PACE Your Life, Polaris Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, WeCare, Aquacare Physical Therapy, Champions for Children’s Health, La Red Health Center, Delaware Assistive Technology Initiative (DATI) which is led by the Center for Disabilities Studies at the University of Delaware. You can also learn about Compassionate Care Hospice.”
In addition to the Wellness Village services, representatives will be on hand from the Department of Public Health’s Self-Management Programs and Tobacco Prevention Program as well as the First State Military Academy Cadets.
Those who plan to attend the event should bring their own chairs to relax and enjoy the music and festivities.
