The Biggs Museum of American Art is turning Father’s Day weekend into a celebration of comics, creativity, and family fun with a two-day event lineup designed to engage visitors of all ages.

On Saturday, June 14, the museum will take part in the Dover Con Comic Festival, inviting guests to explore pop culture through interactive events.

Highlights include a Super Smash Bros. Tournament running from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., hosted by Small Town Gaming.

Participants can compete in the popular video game for a chance to claim victory and connect with fellow gamers.

Later that day, visitors can attend “Comic Couture: Beyond the Panels,” an artist talk scheduled from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.

The discussion offers a behind-the-scenes look at the museum’s latest exhibition, which merges comic book aesthetics with high fashion.

Festivities continue on Sunday, June 15, with a Father’s Day Family Trivia Hunt from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Families are invited to embark on a self-guided scavenger hunt through the museum galleries, solving clues together for a chance to win prizes—and bragging rights, with plenty of dad jokes sure to be spewed.

The weekend also marks the debut of the “Comic Couture: Beyond the Panels” exhibition, curated by Bridge Art Gallery and running from June 12 through June 29.

The exhibit showcases work from a diverse group of artists who reimagine comic book motifs like speech bubbles, panel layouts, and superhero imagery through the lens of fashion and fine art.
