Causey Mansion will be the site of a Pop Up Opera event that will benefit the Santa House. The event is free to attend on Saturday, September 28 from 1 to 3 PM and any donations collected that day will help support Downtown Milford Inc.’s (DMI) Santa House.

“OperaDelaware’s Pop-up Opera program began as a necessity during the pandemic, but quickly evolved into a statewide tool for engagement, education and welcoming new audiences,” Kerriann Otano, Vice President of Engagement, said. “It is a way for everyone to experience opera in a manner they never have before.”

According to Otano, many believe attending an opera is a formal, upscale event but the Pop-Up Opera program is designed to introduce those who may be unaware of the talents of opera singers in a more casual atmosphere. In fact, the event at Causey Mansion encourages guests to bring blankets and chairs just like they would to any outdoor concert.

“Not only will people get to hear just how beautiful opera can be, but they will also enjoy the stunning gardens of Causey Mansion,” Otano said. “This is an event that is perfect for entire families, from small children and up.”

Performers scheduled for this event include Emily Margevich, Chabrelle Williams and Brian Myer along with Aurelien Eulert on the piano.
