Riverwalk Freedom Festival highlights Milford’s community spirit

The 26th annual Riverwalk Freedom Festival brought the Milford community together on Sept. 19 with live entertainment, more than 150 vendors, food trucks, family activities and a fireworks finale along the Mispillion Riverwalk and downtown.
Downtown Milford was filled with music, food, vendors and community activities on Saturday, Sept. 19, as the 26th annual Riverwalk Freedom Festival brought residents and visitors together along the Mispillion Riverwalk and throughout downtown.
Hosted by the Chamber of Commerce for Greater Milford, the free daylong celebration featured more than 150 vendors, food trucks, live entertainment, a car show, children’s activities, a pet park, paddleboat rides, the Mispillion River Duck Dash and a fireworks finale over the river.
The festival, one of Milford’s largest annual community events, began at 9 a.m. and continued into the evening, offering activities for all ages while highlighting local businesses, nonprofit organizations and community groups.
The Mispillion River Duck Dash was one of the day’s featured events, with participants purchasing numbered ducks for a chance to win cash prizes as the ducks raced down the river.
Organizers thanked the volunteers, sponsors and community members who helped bring the festival together.
“The Riverwalk Freedom Festival doesn’t come to life on its own,” the Chamber of Commerce for Greater Milford shared in a post-event message, recognizing the many people involved in planning, setting up, organizing and supporting the event.
The festival also marked another year of a Milford tradition that has grown into a signature community celebration, drawing visitors downtown each September for a full day of entertainment and activities along the riverfront.
