Robin Elaine Swanson, a Milford resident known for her quick wit, love of travel and deep devotion to family and friends, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2026, at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford. She was 65.

Swanson built a career in banking and finance, working for Wilmington Trust Co. for many years. She later worked in the real estate department at Moore & Rutt, P.A., before serving as a loan officer with the Delaware State Police Federal Credit Union.

Friends remember Swanson as someone who embraced life with enthusiasm and humor. She was especially devoted to her Pomeranians, proudly calling herself “PomsMom” — even displaying the title on her license plate.

A passionate traveler, Swanson explored destinations across the United States and abroad, including Africa, Italy, Spain and Egypt, and enjoyed several cruises. She was also known for hosting Oscar parties, inviting friends to dress in formal attire and predict the evening’s winners. Her annual “Zelda Christmases” with longtime friends and co-workers were among the gatherings she treasured most.

Swanson enjoyed creating stained glass art and reading Civil War history. She looked forward to the Kentucky Derby each year and often visited Delaware Park to watch the horses run — a pastime that reflected her lifelong love of horses.

Family members described her as a caring daughter and loyal friend who was often the center of her social circles. Her quick wit and humor earned her a special place among her close-knit group of friends, affectionately known as the “Ya Ya Sisterhood.”

She is survived by her mother, Patricia Robertson; her half-sister, Lynn Bloom of Middletown; and her half-brother, Daniel Swanson of New Castle. She was preceded in death by her father and her half-brothers, Jack Swanson Jr. and David Swanson. Though she had no children of her own, her family said Jacob W. Walls, affectionately known as “Jakie,” held a special place in her heart.
