Milford Public Library has many events planned for September

The Milford Public Library has many exciting programs planned for the month of September, including the creation of blankets, book sales and teleservices.

“Just as a reminder to everyone, the library will be closed on September 2 so that our staff can celebrate Labor Day with their families,” Lea Rosell, Director of the library, said. “We hope everyone has a wonderful and safe holiday!”

On Tuesdays and Thursdays through September, teleservices related to employment, health and social support are available in the main lobby. On Tuesdays, the event begins at 11 while on Thursdays it starts at 10 AM. On Saturday, September 7, the AmeriHealth Caritas Health Fair is planned in the Minner Room at 10 AM.

“We offer English classes regularly every month,” Rosell said. “We have multiple levels available, and anyone interested can simply sign up on our events page. We are really excited to offer our $5 Book Sale this month as well. Starting September 19 at 10 AM in the Smith Room and running through September 21, we will offer books for sale for $5. We are also having a “Freedom Festival Craft to Go” outside the library during the Riverwalk Freedom Festival on Saturday, September 21.”

There are many activities planned in the Teen Center as well, from video games, Art Club, Minecraft Club and more. In the Children’s Room, story time is offered on September 5 and 19 at 10:30 AM and Skittles S.T.E.M. is offered at 3 PM on September 10. On September 12, the Children’s Room will feature Back to School Bingo at 5:30 PM and on September 17 there will be a Decorate a Back to School Bag at 3 PM in the same area of the library.

“On September 24 at 3 PM, kids can make a window suncatcher at the library,” Rosell said. “On Saturday, September 28 at 10 AM, they can get a Engineer Early Grab & Go S.T.E.M. Kits.”
