In a game featuring good pitching, Logan Wiley and Brandon Grygo combined to shutout Del Vets over the final 4 innings to help lead Stahl Post in a 4-2 victory Tuesday night at Wilson Field in New Castle.

The game was close throughout as neither team led by more than a run until late, when Dante Claudio doubled to lead off the 6th and was singled home with two outs by Jake Fallers. Fallers went 3-for-4 with an RBI, Claudio doubled in 3 at bats and scored 2 runs, while Don Joseph walked twice, singled and had an RBI to lead ‘Post. John Dunion lead Del Vets with a triple, a single and an RBI.

Post 30 took a 1-0 lead in the 1st inning on 2 walks and 2 singles off Brodie Valentine. The Del Vets lefty settled down over the next two innings striking out 3 batters and not allowing a run. That helped his team take the lead, scoring single runs in the 2nd and 3rd innings on RBI hits by Nate Huxtable and John Dunion to go up 2-1.

Stahl Post would score twice to regain the lead for good in the 4th inning without the benefit of a hit on 2 walks, a HBP, an error and fielder’s choice.

Wiley went 5 innings striking out 4 to get the win. Grygo retired all six batters he faced in relief to get the save.
