The Delaware State Police arrested 33-year-old Michael Martino of New Castle, Delaware, for a burglary that occurred early Wednesday morning at a commercial building in New Castle.
On November 6, 2024, at approximately 6:10 a.m., troopers responded to the AT&T building, located at 65 Southgate Boulevard, New Castle, for a repeated alarm. Upon arriving, troopers conducted a property check of the building and made contact with an AT&T employee, who reported an unknown suspect was on the roof. Troopers located the suspect on a catwalk connecting the rear of the building to a cell tower. The suspect, identified as Michael Martino, complied with verbal instructions to come down from the catwalk, and was taken into custody without incident. During the investigation, troopers learned Martino caused several thousand dollars in damage to the roof, where he had created a point of entry into the building.
Martino was then taken to Troop 2, where he was charged with the crimes listed below, arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2, and released on a $3,000 unsecured bond.
- Attempted to Commit Burglary 3rd Degree (Felony)
- Criminal Mischief $5,000 or More (Felony)
- Criminal Trespass 2nd Degree
