Delaware State Police is investigating a fatal four-vehicle crash that took place this morning in Milford, which left one man deceased.
A Chevrolet Tahoe, traveling northbound, was approaching Bakerfield Road at 7:33 a.m. on July 11, 2025. A Chrysler Town and Country minivan, traveling in the left lane on Coastal Highway southbound and approaching Bakerfield Road, was also travelling at the same time. Subaru Forester in right lane and Chrysler 200 in left lane were both traveling behind the minivan. As the Tahoe tried to negotiate the gradual bend, it entered the middle median, spun counterclockwise and entered the southbound lanes on Coastal Highway. It then entered into the path the minivan. The right front of Tahoe hit the left front minivan and separated the engine. The front of the Subaru hit the rear of minivan after the collision. And the Chrysler hit the engine that was separated.
The driver, a 71 year old man from Kennett, Pennsylvania, died at the scene. The name of the driver is being kept secret until his family has been notified.
The driver, a 31 year old man from Frederica in Delaware, was critically injured and taken to a local hospital.
The woman driver of the Forester was transported to a local hospital for non-life-threatening injury.
The driver, a woman of 34 years old from Dover in Delaware, did not suffer any injuries.
The Coastal Highway was shut down for about 4 hours as the investigation and clearing of the scene took place.
