The Delaware State Police are investigating a two-vehicle fatal crash that occurred in August.
On August 29, 2023, at approximately 5:27 p.m., a green 2015 Chevrolet Cruze was traveling northbound on Harmony Road, approaching the intersection of Harmony Crest Drive. At the same time, a gray 2015 Ford Edge was stopped at the stop sign on Harmony Crest Drive. The Ford made a left turn from Harmony Crest Drive onto the northbound lane of Harmony Road. As the Ford turned left, its front right end struck the Chevrolet’s front left side. The impact forced the Chevrolet off the roadway and into the shoulder, where the right front tire struck a curb.
The driver of the Chevrolet, a 62-year-old woman from Wilmington, Delaware, was taken to an area hospital by ambulance, where she was admitted for critical injuries. On October 2, 2023, she died from injuries sustained during the crash. Her name is being withheld until her family and relatives are notified.
The driver of the Ford, a 54-year-old man from Wilmington, Delaware, was not injured. On the date of the crash, he was cited. However, additional charges may be pending as the investigation is still ongoing.
