The Delaware State Police are investigating a fatal pedestrian hit-and-run collision that occurred last night in Farmington that left one woman dead.
On November 2, 2023, at approximately 6:47 p.m., an unknown vehicle was traveling northbound on South Dupont Highway south of Main Street in Farmington. A female was standing in the middle of the northbound lane of South Dupont Highway when she was struck by the unknown vehicle. The unknown vehicle did not stop, and the driver fled from the scene.
The pedestrian, a 33-year-old woman from Milton, Delaware, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her name is being withheld until her family and relatives are notified.
The northbound lanes of South Dupont Highway were closed for approximately four hours while the scene was investigated, and the roadway was cleared.
The Delaware State Police Troop 3 Collision Reconstruction Unit continues to investigate this incident. Troopers are asking anyone who witnessed this collision to please contact Cpl/3 J.
