MILFORD, Del. — Delaware State Police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash that claimed the life of a 74-year-old Harrington man Monday night.
The incident occurred around 8:10 p.m. on March 23 along Milford-Harrington Highway, just east of Church Hill Road. According to investigators, an unknown vehicle was traveling westbound when it struck a pedestrian who was also walking westbound, possibly within the roadway.
The driver fled the scene in an unknown direction.
The victim was transported to a nearby hospital, where he later died from his injuries. Authorities are withholding his name pending notification of family members.
The roadway was closed for an extended period as the Delaware State Police Troop 3 Collision Reconstruction Unit conducted an on-scene investigation.
