State Police Investigating Shots Fired

The Delaware State Police are investigating a shooting that occurred early this morning in Wilmington.

On July 19, 2023, at approximately 1:45 a.m., troopers responded to the area of Philadelphia Pike and East Delaware Avenue, Wilmington for reports of a shooting. Troopers discovered two unknown subjects were heard arguing followed by multiple shots being fired. One of the subjects fled on foot and the other fled in a car in an unknown direction. Troopers located several shell casings on the ground. No injuries have been reported at this time.

There is no suspect description at this time. Surveillance video and images are not yet available.

The Troop 2 Criminal Investigations Unit is still investigating this incident. Investigators are asking for anyone with information regarding this case to contact Detective J. Lucyk by calling 302-365-8446. Information may also be provided by sending a private Facebook message to the Delaware State Police or contacting Delaware Crime Stoppers at 1-800-847-3333.
