State Police Issue Gold Alert for Missing Millsboro Teen

Delaware State Police Troop 4 is issuing a Gold Alert for 14-year-old Drake Smandra from Millsboro, Delaware. Drake was last seen leaving his Millsboro residence on foot on June 26, 2024. Attempts to locate him have been unsuccessful. There is a concern for his safety and well-being.

Drake is described as a black male, approximately 5’05” tall, and weighing approximately 100 lbs. He was last seen wearing a pair of blue and white swim trunks with no shirt or shoes.

Anyone with information regarding Drake Smandra’s whereabouts is asked to contact Delaware State Police Troop 4 by calling (302) 856-5850, or by dialing 9-1-1. Information may also be provided by contacting Delaware Crime Stoppers at 1-800-847-3333.

Investigation: man found dead after large outdoor fire in Milford
MILFORD — A man was found dead Wednesday afternoon after a large outdoor fire broke out behind a residence in Milford. The fire was reported shortly after 1 p.m. in the 3000 block of Big Stone Beach Road. According to the Delaware Office of the State Fire Marshal, crews from the South Bowers Volunteer Fire Company, along with other assisting departments, arrived to find a fire spreading rapidly through a wooded area behind a home. His identity and cause of death are pending an investigation by the Delaware Division of Forensic Science. No other injuries were reported, and damage is estimated at $250. Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the fire and the man’s death.
