Delaware State Police have arrested 41-year-old Kyle Hefton of Boothwyn, PA, on DUI, drugs, and weapon charges following a suspicious person investigation last night.
On March 14, 2023, at approximately 10:15 p.m., troopers responded to Holly Oak Towing located at 6521 Governor Printz Blvd, Wilmington, DE in reference to a suspicious vehicle. When troopers arrived, they observed a subject later identified as Kyle Hefton, standing outside of his white Chevrolet Silverado in front of the business. Immediately upon contact, troopers observed signs of impairment and a DUI investigation ensued. Witnesses at the scene confirmed Hefton was observed in the driver’s seat of the vehicle. Hefton was taken into custody without incident. A subsequent search of his vehicle led to the discovery of a loaded Sig Sauer 40. Caliber handgun, approximately 9.85 grams of cocaine, and approximately 30.28 grams of THC edibles.
Hefton was transported to Delaware State Police Troop 1, where he was charged with the following crimes:
- Possession of a Deadly Weapon During the Commission of a Felony (Felony)
- Possession of a Semi-Automatic Weapon by a Person Prohibited and a Controlled Substance (Felony)
- Possession of a Controlled Substance Tier 1 Quantity (Felony)
- Possession of a Firearm While Under the Influence
- Driving a Vehicle Under the Influence of a Drug
- Possession of Marijuana
Hefton was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court #11 and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on a $73,001 cash bond.
