Second Street Players is delighted to present their 2024 season finale, “The Sound of Music,” at the Riverfront Theater; 2 S Walnut St in Milford.
Performances will take place Friday thru Sunday, November 29 thru December 1, December 6 thru December 8 and December 13 thru December 15, 2024. Friday and Saturday shows begin at 7 PM; Sunday matinees begin at 2 PM.
Based on the memoir of Maria Augusta Trapp, “The Sound of Music” is the inspirational story of a cheerful, energetic postulate who brings music and joy to the family home of Captain von Trapp while serving as governess to the seven von Trapp children. When Nazism takes a strong hold on Austria, Maria, the Captain and the von Trapp family must make a decision that will impact their future. Winning the hearts of theater goers worldwide, The Sound of Music became the world’s most beloved musical, earning five Tony Awards and five Oscars and was the final collaboration between Rodgers & Hammerstein.
