The Delaware State Police have arrested 51-year-old Theodore Guajardo of Lewes, Delaware, following an incident that occurred at a Rehoboth Beach hotel Sunday night.
On July 16, 2023, at approximately 8:20 p.m., troopers responded to the Inn at Rehoboth located at 36012 Airport Road, Rehoboth Beach, regarding an aggravating menacing incident. Troopers made contact with a 31-year-old man, who said that while he was in the parking lot with his 4-year-old son and his 7-month-old daughter, an unknown man approached them with a knife and threatened to kill him. Troopers located the man, identified as Theodore Guajardo, across the street from the hotel with the knife sheathed on his hip.
Guajardo was taken into custody and taken to Troop 7 where he was charged with the following crimes:
- Aggravated Menacing (Felony)
- Possession of a Deadly Weapon by a Person Prohibited (Felony)
- Endangering the Welfare of a Child – 2 counts
Guajardo was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 3 and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $5,550 secured bond.
