Troopers Arrest Man for Felony Internal Theft

The Delaware State Police have arrested 40-year-old Alfred Virellas of Wilmington, Delaware for felony theft after an investigation that began yesterday morning.

On April 20, 2023, a manager at GardaWorld, a security and cash management company located at 212 East Lea Boulevard in Wilmington, contacted troopers and advised that an employee had stolen over $11,000 in cash over the course of March 2023. The employee, identified as Alfred Virellas, had removed large sums of money from cash bags several times while working for GardaWorld. The money was never returned.

Troopers responded to GardaWorld and were able to take Virellas into custody without incident. Virellas was taken to Troop 1, where he was charged with one count of Theft Over $1,500, a felony. Virellas was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2 and released on $10,000 unsecured bond.
