Delaware State Police have arrested 35-year-old Alexander Quiles, of Newark, New Jersey, on multiple charges related to a fraud investigation at Lowe’s yesterday morning.

On June 28, 2023, at approximately 11:47 a.m., troopers responded to Lowe’s at 2225 Hessler Boulevard in New Castle, Delaware, for a reported fraud investigation. The investigation revealed that Alexander Quiles entered the store and identified himself as an employee and an authorized purchaser of Sentinel Self Storage. Employees of Lowe’s quickly recognized Quiles as a suspect in a previous fraud, so they called 911. Shortly after entering the store, Quiles used a fraudulent ID and the purchase account of Sentinel Self Storage to purchase more than $1500 in flooring products. Troopers arrived on scene and took Quiles into custody before he could leave the store. A search incident to an arrest revealed that he had a fake Delaware driver’s license in his possession. Quiles was transported to Troop 2, where he was charged with the following crimes:

  • Identity Theft (Felony) – 2 counts
  • Attempt to Commit Theft $1500 or Greater (Felony)
  • Forgery Second Degree (Felony)

Quiles was arraigned by the Justice of the Peace Court 2 and committed to Howard R Young Correctional Institution on a $15,000 cash bond.
