Delaware State Police arrested Dominic Damiano, 57, of Hammonton, NJ, for burglary and related charges after an incident early this morning.
On March 3, 2023, at approximately 3:19 a.m., troopers responded to the Dollar General, located at 3056 New Castle Avenue, New Castle, for a burglary alarm. The security monitoring company for the business relayed a description of the suspect who made forced entry through a window, removed tobacco products, and fled the scene on foot. Responding troopers located a suspect matching the description walking southbound on New Castle Avenue away from the business. The suspect, identified as Dominic Damiano, was taken into custody without incident and was located in possession of various packs of cigarettes inside of a pillowcase.
Damiano was transported to Delaware State Police Troop 2, where he was charged with the following crimes:
- Burglary 3rd Degree (Felony)
- Theft $1500 or Greater (Felony)
- Criminal Mischief
Damiano was arraigned in the Justice of the Peace Court # 2 and released on a $6,000 unsecured bond.
