The first Indian themed restaurant will hold a grand opening on June 6. The Twist Indian Grill is located at 907 North Dupont Boulevard, Suite 105 in Milford. The restaurant is the vision of Maulin Patel, a third generation restaurateur. He partnered with his brother-in-law and sister, Priyank and Priyanka Patel who are from Salisbury, Maryland.
“I always thought of making Indian food more popular as many people have not tried it,” Maulin said. “A local Dover businessman, Dhrupal Patel, thought of this unique concept which is a “twist” on Indian foods.”
Maulin and his wife, Pratiksha, chose Milford at the suggestion of Patel who owns a liquor store in Harrington. The restaurant offers a unique concept, allowing customers to customize their entrée as they prefer.
“We serve fusion entrees like burritos, bowls, quesadillas, nachos, tacos and also traditional Indian dishes,” Maulin said. “These include butter chicken, chicken tikka masala, and lamb korma. We are also home to Indian street foods and delicious milkshakes. We also serve halal.”
According to Maulin, there is “something for everyone” at The Twist Indian Grill. This is the second location with the first opened in Dayton, Ohio. The first location was extremely successful from the beginning.
“It has become one of the most loved restaurants in Dayton,” Maulin said. “Dhrupal knew there was no Indian food in this area and felt it would be a great addition to the town. We also plan to franchise in Salisbury, Maryland, Cincinnati, Ohio and in Kentucky.”
The Twist Indian Grill is hiring for all positions and application can be submitted at thetwistindian.com. The restaurant is open Monday through Sunday from 9 AM until 11 PM. They also offer catering.
