Narrative: The Dover Police Department has arrested Terrence Mears, 20, of Dover, and Jaiden Rivera, 18, of Smyrna, on weapons charges following an investigation Tuesday evening. The Dover Police Department’s D.V.O.C unit was assisting Delaware Probation and Parole with a firearms investigation involving Mears and a residence in the 300 block of Charring Cross Dr. Mears was taken into custody without incident at Probation and Parole and he was transported to the residence while Probation and Parole conducted an administrative search.
Rivera was taken into custody at the residence on Charring Cross as a result of this investigation and found in possession of a firearm concealed in his waistband.
During the administrative search, Probation and Parole located a Smith and Wesson MP 15-22 .22 caliber rifle, ammunition, and marijuana. Both defendants were transported to Dover Police Department where they were processed and arraigned.
Rivera was committed to SCI on $10,000 cash bail on the following charges:
-Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon
-Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited
Mears was committed to SCI on $25,000 cash bail on the following charges:
-Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited (2x)
-Possession of Ammunition by a Person Prohibited
-Possession of a Firearm With an Obliterated Serial Number
