The United Church, which is based out of Dover, Delaware, runs a community outreach and service program at the Milford Public Library and in the Tharros Village in Lewes on alternating Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to Noon.
The program is organized in coordination with Love Delaware, a community outreach and compassion initiative.
The goal and mission of the outreach program is to provide the homeless population and local impoverished communities with basic services and amenities in times of need.

Mobile Shower Services and Other Amenities Offered to Those In Need By United Church
The group brings together multiple trucks and mobile units to provide the services to the public.
Organizers hope the program encourages those in need to seek assistance without fear, judgment, or unnecessary barriers to access.
Along with the mobile showers, many community members stop by for food, hygienic kits, water, cooling supplies, and ready to go care packages.
United Church and Love Delaware aim to eventually expand their community outreach program into Dover, Delaware as well.
The program typically runs from early summer into November, depending on the availability of other outreach programs in the area.
“Hopefully the more we’re here, the more people will come out and be brave enough to take a shower.” says director of Love Delaware, Kestrel McCliment.
