The armed subject who had barricaded himself at the Grove Apartments located in the 1100 block of Compass Way, Newark, has surrendered to police without further incident.
The male subject armed with a handgun, barricaded himself in at the apartment a little after 1 o’clock this afternoon. He surrendered to Troopers at approximately 4:52 p.m. at which time he was taken into custody without incident. There were no injuries reported.
A heavy police presence remains in the area as the investigation continues.
The roadways to the apartment complex have been reopened.
Further details on the incident and the arrest will be released as they become available.
