*Update- Suspect Arrested* Delaware State Police Investigating McDonalds Robbery

The Delaware State Police have arrested 60-year-old James James Jr. of Pennsville, NJ, for the robbery of a Newport area McDonald’s in early March.

On Wednesday, March 1, 2023, at approximately 9:13 p.m., troopers responded to McDonalds located at 1790 W. Newport Pike, Wilmington, for a reported robbery. The investigation revealed a male suspect approached an employee and demanded money from the cash register. The employee gave an undisclosed amount of money to the suspect who fled the area in an unknown direction. No one was injured during this incident.

Through investigative means, James James Jr. was developed as the suspect in the robbery and troopers obtained a warrant for his arrest. On March 15, 2023, James turned himself in at Troop 2 where he was charged with Robbery Second Degree (Felony).

James was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court #2 and released after posting bail on a $6,000 secured bond.
