Friday morning, ALDI’s opened their new location in Milford in the former Sav-A-Lot building. The line to enter the store stretched from the doors to Dollar General at the other end of Milford Plaza, indicating how excited people were for the new store to open.

“In line for ALDI’s opening!” Councilman Todd Culotta posted on social media with a photo of others in line in front of him.  Jennifer Parnell commented on his post that people were in line at 7:45 AM when she drove by, and the store was not slated to open until 9 AM.

ALDI’s announced they were coming to Milford in March 2022 and that they were slated to open February 9 in December. At the time, Jeff Bahr, Frederick Divisional Vice-President of ALDI said they were looking forward to serving Milford residents. The store announced recently that the first 100 customers would receive a gift bag with a sampling of their Fan Favorites products as well as a gift card.

“They have better produce, dairy and meat than most grocery stores out there,” Sherry Swartzel commented on Councilman Culotta’s post.

The ALDI business model is intentionally different, and the result is a fast and affordable
shopping experience. ALDI fans across the country rave about the company’s award-
winning exclusive brands and weekly lineup of limited-time ALDI Finds. The store will be open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Our stores are designed to make grocery shopping smarter, faster and easier, and we’ve been voted the price leader for five years running,” Baehr said. “We’re excited to open our first ALDI store in Milford and introduce local customers to a new, more affordable way of shopping.”
