Trees similar to these from past years will be on display at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford

One of the most popular fundraisers held for Delaware Hospice is their annual Festival of Trees. The Milford event will kick off with an Open House Cocktail Reception on December 1 from 6 to 9 PM. This event is in its 36th year and is a way for the community to celebrate and remember those who have passed on.

“I’ve been involved in the Festival of Trees since 1997. It’s just a wonderful event that has become a part of my life, and I cannot imagine not working on the festival,” Laura Robelen, co-chair of the New Castle County event, said. “The creativity that is on display year after year is amazing, as is the dedication of the committee members and the event supporters. We have been so fortunate to have sponsors and decorators involved for decades.” The New Castle County Festival of Trees will kick off on Friday, November 25.

The Milford location’s Open House Cocktail Reception is an enchanting evening held at 100 Patriots Way at the Delaware Hospice Center. Tickets are a $30 donation, and the event includes a tree and wreath showcase as well as tastes of the season with light fare. There is a Sip & Socialize portion of the evening that allows attendees to enjoy a little holiday cheer while enjoying festive conversation with others. Bake Shop treasures, created in the Delaware Hospice bakery, will be available for purchase and a silent auction offers the ability to bid and win special treasures.

Sponsorships are still available and options include “Light up the Delaware Hospice Center,” which helps spread cheer with twinkle lights, luminaires and glistening trees, as well as support of various trees. There are Remembrance, Memorial and New Hope Tree options. The Remembrance Tree is decorated with personalized memorial ornaments while the Memorial Tree honors those who have passed away. The New Hope tree supports a program designed for children who have lost a loved one. Individuals and organizations can also sponsor a tree or wreath they decorate themselves. Ornaments can be ordered for the Remembrance Tree by clicking here. Sponsorship information or to buy tickets to Milford’s cocktail reception visit Delaware Hospice online.

In addition to the display of stunning wreaths and trees, Delaware Hospice offers a holiday Marketplace where visitors can find beautiful holiday décor and gift options for everyone on their gift list. For more information, visit www.delawarehospice.org or call 800-838-9800.
