DELMAR, Del. — Delaware State Police are investigating a single-vehicle fatal crash that occurred Thursday in Delmar.
According to police, the crash happened at approximately 5:12 p.m. on November 13, 2025, when a GMC Sierra was traveling northbound on Sussex Highway approaching West Snake Road. For reasons still under investigation, the pickup left the west side of the roadway, crossed the median, entered the southbound lanes and then exited the west side of the road again, where it struck a tree.
The driver, a 30-year-old man from Georgetown, Delaware, was pronounced dead at the scene. His name is being withheld until his family is notified.
Sussex Highway was closed for about four hours while the scene was investigated and cleared. The Delaware State Police Troop 7 Collision Reconstruction Unit continues to investigate.
